The results of the Best Don Exporter of 2009 annual contest of the Rostov Region Administration have been summed up. OOO (LTD) Empils-zinc (Empils’ zinc white plant) was pronounced the winner of the contest in category II.
The Best Don Exporter contest has been held since 2007. It is organized in accordance with the regional export support target program. The enterprises which have made the greatest contribution to the export volume of the finished goods produced in the Rostov Region are identified during the contest.
Zinc oxide (zinc white) is a raw material component for various industry branches: tyre, industrial-rubber, ceramic, cable and pharmaceutical. Empils exports zinc oxide to Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Finland, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Germany, Belgium and Italy. Empils’ partners are large foreign companies – manufacturers of automobile tyres, the Tyre Quality zinc oxide type has been developed for them.
As of 2009 the share of exports in the product sales volumes amounts to 33 %. The company plans to expand the geography of export further and to make regular deliveries to the European consumers.
In 2009 the sales volume of OOO Empils-Zinc zinc oxide amounted to 8,670 tons – this is the highest figure in Russia among the manufacturers of this product.
Along with Empils-zinc the winners of the Best Don Exporter of 2009 contest in category I (OAO Rostvertol) and in category III (OOO Financial Group Donselmash) were announced. OOO Rostselmash Combine Plant has also received the diploma of the contest participant. As well as Empils, this company is a part of Novoe Sodrugestvo holding.
